NEW PROJECT: DIDRIKSONS SS21

Earlier this month Didriksons sent us some of their SS21 line to review. We took a trip across northern England putting the ESTRID and ODIN jackets to the test amongst some of Englands most beautiful but also harsh locations. Accompanied by endless wind and spells of downpour, this made for the perfect cocktail testing these jackets and showcasing their superior water/wind-proofing capabilities thanks to Didrikson’s Galon® material used throughout the consutrction.

All images shot on the Sony Alpha A7RIV with a combination of the Zeiss Batis 85 1.8, Sony 90mm Macro & GMaster 16-35 2.8.

The ESTRID jacket truly is your outdoor friend. The bold colours that ooze adventure, mixed with the superior water and windproof capabilities of this jacket made navigating the various locations we had planned out a breeze.

Featuring four welded front pockets and endless adjustments to make the ESTRID a perfect fit, it boasts endless storage for your daily carries and other bits you want to keep dry. The jacket also features ventilation details under the back yoke meaning longer hikes will be a comfortable and dry experience.

Keeping on the move was no problem seeing as the ESTRID jacket is lightweight and easy to pack down into your rucksack.

Limited to 150 pieces, the ODIN jacket was created as an homage to everyone working to make tomorrow a better place to live. All the profit from this jacket is being donated to Water Aid, the organisation working for equality of access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene. With clean informative print on the chest and striking colours, this jacket is certainly an eye catcher!

Featuring Didrikson’s 100% waterproof Galon® material, we can confirm it certainly did keep us toasty & dry throughout the day! Due to the material used in its production, cleaning the jacket is simple only requiring a few wipes from a damp cloth. Featuring endless pockets and WR zippers, you will always have a spot to keep your daily carries and know that they will be kept sheltered from the rain.

Another welcomed feature on the ODIN jacket is the generously sized hood. We often find ourselves struggling with most outdoor jackets as they tend to have smaller hoods. These aren’t much use in heavy rain as water ends up dribbling onto your face and inside the jacket. Didriksons thought about this and with some clever craftsmanship you will find that your face is completely shielded from the elements thanks to the protruding and roomy hood.

With our trip putting these jackets to the test coming to an end, we were suprised with arguably one of the most beautiful sunsets we have seen across the Lake District. Overall our experience with some of Didrikson’s SS21 collection was nothing short of fantastic, the blend between style and function is spot on. With their jackets you can be sure your next adventure will be that much better. Browse the full collection here.
